Holy water droppings batman we got RAIN ! I mean in August ? really ? Right when things were about burnt toast here. What a blessing , thank you to the man up stairs we sure needed that !
So even though it was drizzling with few downpours here and there I thought its my chance to ketch some crappie . rain or not I have to try to ketch em . I have very limited time these days and am going thru some terrible withdrawls on my addiction .
Anyway I was tossed some sample jigs I was sent to try and pitched em in the rain in 2 of the 3 colors I was sent . the jigs came from a guy who just happens to call em mudhole jigs and that's where I pitched them ...right in the ole mudhole lake
Things went as planned and let me tell you this . in a cloud cover drizzle them fish was hitting like mad black bass about 5 to 6 foot down in 14 foot of water at 2 locations ! had one about get my rod as I wasn't quite ready for a slack bite and before I could react to it the fish bought took the rod out of my hands !
went back a few hours later as I passed the lake again and the same spots had them parked on the bottom as the rain went and the skies cleared . and the bite went to a super subtle little nibble nibble peck peck bream kinda thing .
and to be sure I ripped some lips like a fishing show and that aint no joke …..
they all went free and none were whales as well .
that's my story and hope you got some rain like we did

p.s. YES I had on the very goofy hat a few times and even a long sleeve shirt when the drizzles got a bit heavy for a t shirt and no hat ….
