Crappie Schools - Side Imaging
My fishing buddy Don and I got a few hours in today. Hot, hot, hot. This summer the heat really seems bad.
But we caught fish. Nothing to write home about but I kept enough for the family to have dinner. Most were small by our usual "keeper" standards of 12 inches.
If anyone is interested, here is what a few crappie schools look like on side imaging sonar. In this case, a Garmin SV93 The two large lines on the right are, first, the motor foot and second, the starboard pontoon tube.
These are black crappie and the water temperature was in the 80's. They were all holding on a breakline falling from 15 or 16 feet off into 20 feet of water.
