Went on a boat ride with a bud I have known quite a while . Crappiecat as he is known in these parts is a good crappie fisherman and for sure a hoot to hang with . We found fish on all 3 stops and the last stop out in the ocean was for sure a nice visit .
Fish were holding deep for the most part and most of the crappie came from 12 to 15 foot of water close to the bottom . Dock fish were the ticket and we hammered them quite well at that last location . We caught yellow bass, white bass, black bass , channel cat , bluegill , warmouth and even a drum along with black and white crappie .
Was super fun trip for sure and hope to do it soon again . Heck one of the big fish was taken right off his buds dock while he was chatting with him about getting on the dock !
Fish liked a slow dragging bait about a foot off the bottom and for sure blue and chart did the best . We managed fish on lots of color combinations but to be sure something blue and chart was eaten more frequently .
3.5 hours in the afternoon before the local bass tourney started and of course about 5 when the rec. folks showed up we left with a livewell full of fillets
