I use stren crappie mono to shoot docks, I like it better then any line I have tried. Get very few tangles and that is a plus. I have used 2,4 and 6 lb depending on size jig and how deep I am fishing. Order it from Wal Mart.

I us Izorline 6lb test and I long line 90 percent of the time. If I pull cranks then I use 10lb hi vis tied to a6 ft liter of 12lb Izorline. I use the hi vise to keep up with my cranks IMO

Suffix Hi Vis 6lb for spider rig and pulling, Suffix Hi vis 10lb for pulling crankbaits, P-Line 4 lb for my jigging rods. It's what works best for me, almost everyone I fish with with use something different.

I use Fireline Crystal 1/2 lb diameter/2lb strength for free lining, vertical jigging, and lure fishing alone. For combat crappie fishing with jigs on the local pier, I use 4lb Stren Crappie gold line. Thin diameter can get the jig out there. Mr. Crappie line gets too kinky for me. For fishing with Pops, I spool the reels we use with Berkley XL in 4,6, and on the big lakes sometimes 8lb.

If fishing with braid like PP super slick 8, nanofil or fire line do you use a fluorocarbon leader? I have 6lb of all the above and was thinking about using the fluorocarbon leaders in the same poundage or less since I am fishing a super clear lake.

What is your take on using leaders with braids?
