That was how many we kept today. I wish I had counted, cuz I would have let one go. I’m an old baseball player, and superstition is taught in Little League! Anyway, fished pretty much the same way we have all Spring. Deep, main channel brush. We left the ramp just before 7:30 and loaded up around 11:00. It got hot! Water temps started at 72, and was seeing 74 at the end. I had the boat sitting in 32 FOW, and they were in the brush on the bottom. It was basically a dead stick approach, and was best handled with a weedless jighead, 1/16, and best plastic was a 3” Berkley Powerbait minner in purple/chartreuse. I cut 1/2” off the head of the bait to make it a bit smaller. A little Slab Sauce as a garnish, and they took it deep!Name: IMG_0902.jpg

Since we are catching a few more, we needed a better cooler. I’ve heard some good things about Yeti, so now I’m a proud owner! I found one for a great price, but honestly, I’m not that impressed. Maybe an ol redneck boy from the mountains is naive, but I don’t see the allure.?Name: IMG_0905.jpg
