Gander Mountain Vortex dock shooting?

Just curious if anyone has used the Gander Mountain Vortex spinning rods for dock shooting. I hear they are pretty good rods for the money and they are also currently on sale for $19.99. I was thinking about getting a rod for dock shooting and was currently looking at the B&M Sharpshooter 6. It looks like the vortex rod might have close to the same specs as the sharpshooter except the vortex is 6" longer. Any thoughts or experience?

I have both rods, except my Vortex is 5'6", and ultralight. I have never tried shooting docks with it, because I bought the SS 6 first. The SS is much more firm than the Vortex that I own. Also, the SS will flat get er done on dock shooting!
