What's going on after ice out? Water is warming up right? Once you start to see that water get in the upper 40's look shallower... If you are on a boat it should be a heck of a lot easier to slide around and find them.
Down here in the south I have the best luck (when water levels are stable ) catching the big ones in 1-3 feet of water in very thick cover. It will usually be a hole in the weeds about the size of a 5 gallon bucket at the base of a tree. Using jigs.Quote:
