Any certain spray paint to paint rod tips?

Need to paint the tips of my BGJP's with a Florescent orange but just wanted to make sure before I paint them that I don't use the wrong paint. Hoping it'll help a little seeing the bite slightly better. Thanks

I use the Krylon Fluorescent Yellow from walmart, tape the eyes, apply a white primer coat (a cheap spray paint works) and paint. Works great.

Krylon Fusion is made for plastics ...which means it has some flex that resists chipping when a fishing rod is bent over and over ...

We used Krylon spray paint. My Son Painted these Southern crappie rods for me last week. I can't see darker colors very well.

I use paint from a hobby shop. The brand is "Model Master" and I apply it with a brush, which is more accurate and less messy (IMO). I start off with white as the base coat, letting it dry overnight between coats (IMPERATIVE!). I personally like "cadmium yellow light" shade for the actual tip color. These old eyes can pick up on that color quite easily.

I always finish the tip paint with a coating of Sally Hansen's "Advanced Hard As Nails" clear nail polish. Just make sure you've given the paint itself adequate time to dry between coats - at the very least a day for each coat. Yes, it takes time, but a great winter project.

Painting the rod section between the tip top and the first eye under it, gives me a stark color contrast necessary to pick up the most finicky of bites. All my crappie rods are dressed up in this fashion. Works for me!

Just got 2 new 12ft poles for slow trolling. Will have to give painting the tips a try.
