Default Kentucky Lake trip with Chaunc and the guys 5-11-16

Chaunc, his brother Rich, and their buddy Lenny were down for a few days this week. Chaunc missed his usually early April trip this year so I finally got to get them out for some crankbait action on KY Lake.

We started out slow except for Lenny. He was puttin a hurtin on the rest of us with a 16+inch sauger and a bunch of channel catfish that couldn't live without jumping on his John Deere green crankbait. It took the rest of us a while to get going but once we found the crappie, we had good action.

These guys are some of the best fishermen I have ever had to pleasure to sit in a boat with but I put them out of their comfort zone with the cranks for crappie. It didn't take long for them to catch on and it made for the most pleasurable day we could have hoped for. They are extended family.

I had to get Chaunc to show off one of my custom crankbaits. Most of the fish were caught on them but a couple fell to factory pattern Bandit 250s.

Congrats on a great outing. Good friends, good fellowship, and good food are the big 3 to a great day. The caught fish are just icing on the cake. Glad you had your cake with icing also today buddy.

Thanks for taking us out big guy. Had a great time pullin those custom cranks with you. Just got back to PA. Thanks also to Cuzzin Ricki, Brother Dean, and Mark the wiz. Enjoyed breakfast and all the new gadgets for my boat. Looking forward to our July walleye trip on the Great Lake Erie. Thanks again Doug. And Rickie, thanks for selecting me to be pro staff member for Podunk. I'm the only one up north so far. Gonna get that stuff on the boat Monday.
