The wife and me started August off pretty good this morning with 55 crappie 1 bass and 1 Flathead catfish. Threw back several smaller size crappie that will grow bigger for the future fishing trips. The weather temperature was a little cooler this morning around 69 degrees and water temperature was 85 degrees. We were on the water about 5:45 am and fished till 9:00 am as the temperature was getting hotter. We spider fished with minnows and had a ball. The fish habitat that I placed this past year was paying off good. Had fried crappie for dinner today and they were really good. I have read on this forum that a lot of people hang up the old fishing gear in the summer. Well sometimes summer is better fishing than any other time. You just have to find them and placing fish habitat helps a lot. ( Where it is legal) drop some fish habitat it will help the fish and help your catching fish.
