I could never completely feed my obsession so i just started making my own.....
If it is my hand ties I carry six. If I start catching more fish than my fishing partner he will want one. Then we will loose one or two to a toothy northern or large bass. Lastly one lost to a break off in heavy weeds.
Of course there is no way my partners are going to return a hot lure, any way I don't like to see a grown man cry. :-)
Starting out with six at best I come home with three left. Time to tie up a few more.
I like to at least have 50 of each color of grubs. I have some that are great colors that I keep 100+ on hand. Jig heads since I make my own I keep 6 or 7 colors with at least 50 each of 1/32,1/16,and 1/8th. I also keep some 3/32,1/24 and 1/48th though not as many. I have a crappie crank bait box, but never found a time it out produced jigs. I decided it wasn't for me as it cost more and I catch and release a lot of fish. I felt the trebles were to harsh on released fish. For other species I would keep 2-4 of each proven color/type of crank. Other lures depending on affordability at least 2-4. Nothing like working hard to find a pattern and losing your only lure.
You dont want to know. It can become an obsession like a woman and her shoes.
What ever there hittin on,That will be the least you have on ya.It is a passion for sure.Never have enough.
