I use the Camal weighted float . I take them apart and cut the weight in half with a jigsaw blade. I put them back together with one half on top and the other half on the bottom of the float. The float sits up perfect with a 1/16 & 1/32 jig or two 1/24 jigs. The reason that I do this is because in the winter time , the crappie will suck on the jig or just hold on to it. If you use the standard Camal weighted float, you will never see the bite. These floats never fill up with water , like standard plastic floats and you can cast farther , especially in the wind.

Some have eluded to it already, however each float has slightly different rigging needs, and different applications. When I'm using my Linenkugal beer can float, I don't care about fishing. At that point it's all about the beer.

I believe Comal Tackle is the largest float maker in the world. They facility is only a few miles from me. I have been to their factory and have hundreds of their floats. They make every conceivable style for fresh and salt water. The people are great and their products are excellent for the money. You can contact them about specific styles. They generally are the ones that make them, anyway, so they will tell you who sells them in your area.
