A little late posting, but better late than never. We spent a few days over New Year’s on a lake in North Louisiana, and conditions were far from easy. Between strong winds, cold temperatures, and a tough bite, it definitely tested our patience. We stayed with it and were rewarded with some quality fish, including a new personal best weighing 2.83.
All fish were caught in open water and every one of them came on our custom baits—primarily a 3/32 oz jig head paired with a 1.5-inch plastic. Proof that persistence, confidence, and the right bait still get it done even when conditions are stacked against you.
