Juicy and I struck out for the river yesterday. We fished from 8:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. We used an orange jig and fished laydowns and stumps in the river, fishing in 12 FOW about 5-7 FD. We ended up with 53. I had not fished for Crappie since November 11, 2023. 579 days later, I got to experience once again what I love to do. I retired March 30, 2025. I have been a Pastor for 37 years, pastoring (some say pestering), 5 churches. In January 2020, I started helping my daughter raise her two boys. Talk about a job! September 2, 2020, I had a bad TIA that caused my arms and legs to quit working for a little while. November 2020, I was diagnosed with Neuro Micro Vascular Disease. The vessels, veins, and arteries are closing off in my brain. I tell you this to say that I can no longer put on the CDC Lake D'Arbonne Gathering. I will gladly give the info I have to anyone that would like to pick this up. It's work, but worth it in the long run. Raising two little boys at 65 years of age is work also! LOL!!! They love to fish, hunt, and trap. For now we fish off of the sea wall, but I can't wait to put them on some Crappie. They will be hooked! Just giving you a heads up at what's going on with me. Now, on to the pictures.
