Default Nice Day at Oxbow Off the Ouachita

Fished an oxbow off the Ouachita today. Louie was so low two out of three ramps were closed!

Found fish on stumps and tops in 10-14 fow. They liked a 1/16 oz silver with white feather and red tinsel jig I tie. Silver nibble! Not chartreuse or red. Had to dig in the rod locker to find silver! Caught about 14. Most were 8 to 10 inches long.

    Nice weather, fun trip!!

Is there a reason for the low water down that way?

We haven't had any rain in Arkansas, but they are holding the water at normal level here in the Ouachita at Crossett.

Louie is pretty much flat. Not much gradient. Drains into the Ouachita River through a spillway. Water level mostly affected by rain or the lack there of.

    Mississippi River is low also.
