No Crappie Were Harmed On This Trip

Decided to try Old River at Vidalia today. Had a couple chores and had to air up a trailer tire, so no early start. Launch is in reasonable shape, always littered up with sticks and trash, but the ramp is wide. Best to wear some rubber boots, or your feet will get muddy and/or wet. Fished some trees in 10-12 fow with my hand tied jigs. They liked the yellow tail feather a little bit better today. Only problem was “they “ were gaspergou and gar, and one small bass. Caught about ten 5-10 pound gou, and nearly that many small gar. Gave my crappie rod a workout! Tried everything I knew, but couldn’t find any crappie! I think they are hiding from the gar.

Anyway it was a lot of fun and I went further in my boat than I did in my truck!
