    Default Turkey Creek Mapping 2/18

Decided to do some quick mapping of Turkey Creek since my maps weren’t very accurate. Water temperature was 52 on the southern end and 56 on the northern. A lot of shad about 8’ down in the deeper water. After about 3 hours of mapping I had to give it a shot for about an hour, but came up empty. Was surprised to see so many shad still in the deeper water, more surprised that I didn’t see a single crappie. Did see a few larger fish amongst the shad, not sure of what they were but could see the split tail. Water was over the dam on the lower end where it runs to Boeuf River. Not sure what the lower end is really called, I’ve heard Old River and Little Brake.

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.
