    Default Sibley lake?

Does anybody ever fish it? I live in Shreveport and work in Mansfield at the paper mill, and a lot of the guys there have said that sibley lake is so full of crappie that they've taken the limit away, and you can keep all you want, everybody says they're mostly small fish. But I was thinking about taking the wife there, this weekend to try and teach her how to use jigs to catch fish, she's only ever fished with corks and minnows. But I was wondering if anybody knew an area that holds bigger fish, or at least a starting point, i've never fished that lake so I know nothing about it. Thanks for all the info you guys post

You'd better double check on that no limit thing because I haven't seen anything about it. I'd suggest drifting around out from the dam in the deepest water you can find and fish close to the bottom.

That's one reason I was asking about it because I looked all over the Louisiana wildlife and fish website and couldn't find anything about there not being a limit on that lake, and I didn't just want to assume that those guys at work were right about it, thanks for your response

The limit is the same on Sibley Lake as everywhere else in the state. If you are between 16 and 60 you are required to have a lake permit also. It's not just for the driver of the boat, it's for every person that is fishing.

Wow Mike, thanks for posting that. I knew you needed a permit to fish in the lake, but I thought it was just a permit for the boat not every person had to have one.

I thought the same, I went and got my permit and Marshall was with me when I bought it. We didn't realize until later while we were talking to a guy fishing by us that EVERYBODY on the lake had to have one...

He's got it now but I'm sure glad we didn't get checked!
