I thought I was the only one to find balloons, not like yours but party balloons.

I went to Horseshoe Lake Saturday morning near Columbia, thinking my livewell was fixed. Took a.while, but I finally caught one. Guess what? Livewell doesn't work...again. fished all morning and only caught 5, which I released.
But I did "catch" something few people ever do. I saw this white styrofoam box floating in the water with a.long white string going up into the trees. At the end of the string , there appeared to be some deflated baloons.
After retrieving it from the water I saw it was a.weather balloon. It.was released at 5am that morning in Shreveport. It had instructions on how to mail it back so I did. It felt like I killed a banded duck. Here are some pics.

My advice...... don’t fix the livewell..... put em straight on the ice.

sure hope they dont spend a bunch of our tax dollars on those things. thats not a very long flight time. wonder how far it was from where it launched to where you found it.
It probably was launched just prior to the frontal passage that brought all the destruction to Alabama.
