Yes. 1/8th ounce jighead through the grass mats and in submerged treetops in the middle of the canal. No jigging required. Juat drop it down really slow. When it hits the bottom bring it back up really slow. If I don't get hit I move to the next spot. Ill keep going back to the same 4 or 5 spots all day.Quote:

good info ----- It's been awhile (like 4 yrs) but usually in mid Feb where the Chinquapin Canal runs into Bayou Chene Blanc had some good catches but the sacs run on the small size. Also in May / June it's a great bream / google-eye flyfishing area.
Thanks Stickem for the details on your technique I'm learning to fish a jig pole and that helps.
