No rain, little wind, a little cool first thing but it warmed up nicely, I couldn’t have asked for better conditions. But..................

My son was returning from a trip to New Mexico and was about two hours from home when his engine shut down. When he went around checking the truck he found the fuel tank hanging about three inches from the ground. The tank sits in the metal guard that’s sitting on the ground and that is bolted to the frame. The guard broke at the attachment points and when it fell it broke a fitting and cut the fuel off to the motor. I just couldn’t leave him to fight it alone. It was more than a chore for the two of us.

I used what little time I had left to replace my fuel line on the boat. The bulb was rock hard and I was afraid if I had to pump it, it would crack. The boat is eleven years old and the fuel line has been disconnected twice. The first time was when I got water in the tank and the second when I got it overhauled. Other than that I’ve never had to use the primer bulb. If all goes well this one should last at least ten more years. Hopefully I can fish that long.

ps: I hope someone got to fish.
