Default Question about fishing from a pontoon boat

Since I’m just getting into crappie fishing, I’m not aware of how they react to certain things.

I fish from a 20’ pontoon boat without a trolling motor.
Will slipping a mushroom anchor off the back of the boat spook the fish away?

I’m assuming you’ll be fishing brushpiles if you are in a pontoon. If thats the case, youll be fine. I would definitely invest in a trolling motor. It will make your world a lot easier.

Why would I be limited to just brush piles? I'm also planning on jigging around bridge pylons.

That would be fine too. What I meant is I’m assuming your fishing deeper water.

I fish out of a pontoon and have a TM but don't use it that much. when your fishing docks just use your long poles to probe around it and oar to keep from getting too close. or use anchor over brushpiles or pylons or trees. it's just like fishing off a dock and if that is what you have it will be fine. good luck

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Tried to go today but the lightening kept the boat in the yard. Maybe tomorrow!

    No, I'm not trolling.
