Managed to sneak away Sunday afternoon for a trip to Des Allemands....Launched out of Freds in South Vacherie
Started fishing around 1:45 and fished until 7 when I landed my last keeper.
All fish were caught in less than two feet of water and were glued to lay downs. I caught 95% of my fish on dead laydowns rather than standing cypress trees or overhanging branches.
Ended the day with 11 keepers sacs and 7 bream.
I started using my favorite matrix mini but made the switch to a pink/purple curly tail with a chartreuse end and that seemed to be the ticket they were looking for.
Water temps were 70-72 in the canals and a few degrees less on the lake, but the lake is GREEN. They haven't stopped celebrating St. Patrick's day down there.
