First time poster, but I have lurked this board before and felt it was time to post. Went to the pearl just before the rains screwed things up on January 25. I fish primarily out of a kayak and saltwater tournament fish, but I love chasing sacalait. Anyway it took me a while to find them and had a decent bag. No big slabs, but the fish averaged 10". Brought home 22. Caught them on a roadrunner with 1/16oz and blue and pearl curly tail jig in 10-14' of water slow jigging. Water temps were in the mid 50's.
Also did another trip two days ago out of pier 90. Only caught 6 and a fat bass, but they were all nice averaging 13". Caught on same color under a sliding cork in 2-4' of water. One of them had eggs.
