    Default Henderson...1/15/18....Down But Not Out.....

Up at 6....(usually 4)....finally got a painless day on my left leg...sciatic nerve.....headed out for 90 shiners and then the Waffle House.....got to the launch at 8:30......motor trim wouldn't work....fooled with all 3 switches and it finally started working.....launched the boat and parked the truck...jump in and hit the key to start the motor....nothing....disconnected the cranking battery and the trolling motor batteries and tried to crank off the TM battery.....nothing.....nothing to do now but load back up and head home....2 CDC guys (good fisherman) showed up and helped me get back on the trailer.....waved them off and continued to load back up....can't trim the motor back down.....found a couple of 2 x 4's to prop up the motor to get back to town....tied it well with 3 pieces of rope...went straight to a new repair shop someone told me about.....got there at 11:30....cranking battery dead.....TM batteries weak.....told him to replace all 3 with AC Delco maintenance free.....he said Wednesday ready.....got home coffee & cat in lap.....one of the CDC guys that helped me called and said he caught more fish than everyone he talked to.....I said how many you got ...he said one....now I am feeling better about missing out on a beautiful day.....at 4:10 the shop called and said my boat was ready......WOW.....now I am really feeling good.....I guess the Man upstairs decided I didn't need to fish today......and thats OK.....still a good day.....gonna be 69 deg this Saturday.....lookout....

Mr. Bruce, you are ready to rock and roll now. Doesn't sound like you missed much today anyway. When was the last time you replaced the batteries. Kind of weird they all went at one time. I know you had them on a charger.

Hey PS, Looks like your still on a breakdown maintenance schedule. You need to get with Louis A and get a preventive maintenance schedule. Makes me wonder if there is anyone like him in the boat repair business.

As much as you fish the things are gonna happen. Just take em in stride.

Sometimes the man upstairs doesn't let us go for a reason. I remember years ago I was bringing my son duck hunting and something that morning just didn't feel right. Got all the way to the launch, launched the boat, parked the truck, went to crank the boat, nothing! Loaded the boat back up and went home.
