    Default Lake bruin night fishing

Made a trip to bruin last night to fish around the flooded green lights for some hybrids and crappie. We caught 7 hybrids with the biggest weighing right at 6.5lbs and the girlfriend caught about a 14-15lb carp. I have never seen a carp hit a crankbait so this was a first for me. The crappie weren't as cooperative but it was still a good time.

What time were you fishing and how late did you stay?

I'm wondering if you didn't just snag that carp in the lip. I snagged a catfish in the tail yesterday. Some fish are just unlucky.

We got there about 10:30 and left about 12:30. And he had the crankbait buried pretty deep in his mouth so I don't think it was snagged but I could be wrong.

Nice trip. I go to lake st john and do that on vacation each year. Its fun. I have never caught a crappie at one of the lights. I am sure they are there just not biting my baits...
The carp is a fun fight. I hooked one that size on a bass jig. Must have hit in on the head going through the lillies.

Oh it could be. I'm no expert in fish id. Looking at pictures though the mouth and dorsal fin look like that of a common carp but a buffalo looks similar so it could very well be that.
