    Default Red River 6/10/2017

Jiggin' with Juicy today on the Red River. Lots of people out fishing today. We fished 10-15 FOW, fishing 8-10 FD. We used Bonehead Stump bug in Paradise color and Bonehead 10 ft. Rod. We kept 15 fish today. #Teamoveralls

Great pics. Love them overalls. do ya'll fish in the oxbows or the actual river? I might make a trip to the red this weekend . I'll be camping in Marksville and the Red passes right there.

I notice a lot of guys on here use jigs when spider rigging. I always go with shiners because I try both some times and I don't catch squat on those jigs. What do you think am I doing wrong? I usually go very slow, between 0 and 3 mph.

Dapet, we fish the treetops in the Oxbows most and treetops in the river. We vertical jig with 10 ft. rods. I use Power Pro 20 pound test braided line in hi-vis yellow. It is the same diameter as 6 pound monofilament. That way I can pull the jig loose without breaking off if I get hung up. You will get hung up. LOL!!! We do use shiners sometimes we just didn't today. There are times they prefer shiners over jigs. You just have to be patient when jigging treetops. Sometimes the fish will hang you up after you have set the hook on it. If that happens gradually give some slack and most of the time it will come loose and you can pull the fish up through the top. We have one place we fish that we always say, "Hope you are not too fond of that jig!" There are a lot of jigs in those treetops. LOL!!!

That's some good looking fish. Feeling that thump never gets old.
