Grand Bayou 5/6/17

I launched my boat around daybreak and when I got out to the main lake it looked like the Bermuda Triangle with a huge solid patch of fog in the middle. I watched the big bass boats flying right into it and they would just disappear! I decided to stay out of it till the sun burned it off. I was glad I did because I caught some of my biggest fish out on a deep 18' flat suspended around 6' deep chasing bait fish. After the fog was gone I meet up with my ol buddy Duckcomando and we trolled side by side for a few hours picking up fish here and there. We fished till the ski boats came out and we both finished with a nice mess.
Don't worry Pastor, we left plenty for you lol!

Oh my! What a sight! Great PICTS! I may sound foolish but is that Black Lake? I've never fished there but my husband did years ago. We stopped at a little store driving near black about 4 years ago and bought some baits made there locally. Do you by any chance know the name of the store? It was right on road. I'm sorry it's such a vague request. Thanks

I laughed out loud when I realized it says GRAND BAYOU and I asked about Black Lake I truly do have good sense most of the time.. All week we have been talking about different fishing spots and eying to remember he name of the site near Black Lake. All I can figure is I read someone's post from Black Lake and transposed to yours. So I guess we are going to make a trip to find our store near Black Lake and put and end to it. Regardless your posts were great!

Wish I could go. My whole family has been down since last night with stomach virus. I haven't been this sick in years. Luckily it's just a 24 hour deal but I don't think I have the strength to go fishing so you know that's sick!

hahaha, it's ok Honeyjan, I do post a lot from Black Lake also. The store you're talking about is Lakeside on Hwy 9 (Campti La.) right before the bridge. Before you head up here with a boat check with someone about the salvania (you can PM me if you'd like), its taking over the middle of the lake around the bridge. They are beginning a drawdown of the lake with an aggressive spraying program in June.
