Bruce what i do is.....no swivel....no leader......i run my line thru a half oz egg singer...loop the line thru it four times to hold it in place....leave tag end of line about 18 in long tie bottom hook on it.....go up above sinker about 18 in....pull you line double and thead it thru hook...pull hook back thru it to hold it and then make a loop knot so it leaves about a two in loop. This is how we do it in MS. If you want you can make rigs like this and use a swivel at top for fast rig changes if you break off.

I can do a new rig like that in five minutes so i dont do pre made rigs. I am not in a big hurry anyway ... not fishing tournaments. If you like single rigs better just leave off the top hook.

I use the same weight pushing jigs as i do minnows....if the wind is real bad i will go up to a 3/4 oz weight.

You've still got to watch you rod tips, you know how subtle the bite can be. When you're spider rigging they don't just jump on the hook, you've still got to set it.

If I need a thump I hold one or two of the rods they're biting on the best....so there's ways with spider rigging to get thump therapy...as we all need some form of it:)

i've been pulling cranks and pushing a jig with a 3 oz weight....is it too heavy? when the bite is on they bite it.....and I was putting two jigs below the weight....
