Anyone have tips for fishing an algae bloom

Went to lac des allemands friday and the entire lake and surrounding canals were covered with a green film. Ran down to lake beouf and it was the same thing. Fished all day and couldn't get a single bite. Tried shallow, deep, bright and dark colors, beatle spins...., my entire arsenal. Couldn't even catch any bream that have been all over the beds lately.

I fish it like muddy water. Which as you know the "Lac" lacks heavy cover. But that said, it's what I'd concentrate on.
