Poverty Point commercial fishing

Commercial fishing was opened on Poverty Point about a month ago but I've seen no evidence of any nets. Anybody come across any? The carp are spawning along the bank now and there doesn't seem to be any reduction in numbers. If you like to catfish, they are close up to the banks along with the carp.

Is there a market up there for da fish?

Don't know but the news release announcing the netting said they would be targeting carp, buffalo and catfish.

it was only opened until February.

Bobfish, you are right. Didn't seem to make a dent in the carp.
