Went Monday for a little exploratory trip to check on water temps. Water was from 58.7-63.9 depending upon where I was at on the lake. I fished all of my favorite boathouses and piers; nothing, not a bump. I moved to the bank and fished several different locations, fishing stumps in one spot and grass in another by throwing a jig under a cork and slowly working it back toward the boat; nothing, not a bite. I found a brush top in 20 feet of water. there were fish holding just above the brush from 10-15 feet down; nothing, not a bite. I fished from 7:00-1:00 using several different colors of jigs and no shiners were harmed during the day.

I will admit I am a little hard headed, but I finally got the message that the fish just were not going to bite for me and came home. It was too bad to because it was a beautiful day to be on Caney and not too much wind. Oh well, I left them for the next trip, I guess. I hope all of ya'll had a better day.
