Thumbs up Lake St. John Thanksgiving Day

My family got together on Wednesday for Thanksgiving. That left me today free. So, after looking at pictures of Josh's catch over the last 3-4 days; what did I do? I hooked up the boat as soon as I got home on Wed. and headed to St. John Thursday morning around 5:00 AM. Arrived at the lake about 7:00 and launched the boat. Started fishing about 7:30 and quit at 11:00. Caught some fish on a sweet tea and lemon Bobby Garland and some fish on a Cajun cricket/chartreuse triple tail. But I caught most of my fish on my hand tied hair jig in the Gray Ghost colors. Josh probably caught 15-20 before he left for Monroe to have lunch with his in-laws. I caught the rest of them. I cleaned 57. What a wonderful Thanksgiving Day I had today. At times I was catching 2-3 fish per minute. I don't know how many we caught. Culled everything under 11 inches except one 10 incher that swallowed the hook.

I almost forgot to mention that I caught most of my fish on the Wahali pole I got as a door prize at the D'Arbonne Gathering. What a pole! Sensitive tip with plenty of backbone.
