Nice catch. What does a bobby garland blackout shad look like?

I throw it out close to the grass/lillies line. I let it sink but NOT to the bottom if I can help it, can get hung up like that. I then pull up 2 times on the rod...im trying to simulate a minnow in distress. 2 pull ups then reel slow in.Depending on how far I throw out I might pull up 2 times again. Now..sometimes I throw out and reel in slow, letting it run along the bottom... Hooking it: I place the hook as to where is comes out the BACK of the shad. If you dont hook it like this the shad wont swim right! From my experience..the shad MUST swim in a straight line and no go in loops.
