    Default Test Run on Tickfaw

Had to go run the new motor today and decided to bring along a couple poles . The water was super high , over the boat launch and I figured I wouldn't catch much . So the boat is running fine and I come across a really nice looking downed tree . So I killed the motor and dropped the trolling motor . Had a couple short bites but kept on them and finally caught one or two . It slowed so I moved on to another one and same thing , short bites and then one or two fish . It was the same thing most of the afternoon . After making quite a few stops , I had a nice lil mess and called it quits . New motor did great ! Thing runs and handles like a Cadillac and so glad I got rid of that other junk
    .

Caught the majority of fish on lay downs with a silver hair jig around 8' on the outer parts of trees . A couple came off of blk n chartreuse .

Glad your motor ran fine that is the way them Hondas run. I got a 2000 90 hp on my pontoon and it has been in shop one time when I was to lazy to run all the fuel out the carbs. Glad you were able to catch a good mess of fish also. Thanks for sharing.

That's the first 4 stroke I've ever owned . I normally will run my boat two or three times a week especially during hunting season . Do you run the fuel out each time you put it in the trailer or ? Do you think I will be ok running the boat like I do ?

Nice catch Shoe. I've been thinkin about checking the bite on the Tic. The south east wind is keeping the water up. Were you using the public launch under the 22 bridge?

I put in at P Maws , across from the public launch . They moved I heard so I guess it's a free launch too now ! Test Run on Tickfaw yes the east wind has been pumping . Mainly fished above the bridge up Tickfaw .

I was not real clear in my post. My pontoon gets used a couple times a year and when not in use it is stored in a building. I let it sit for over a year without cranking it. If you run it regularly you do not have to run the fuel out of the carbs. I would imagine that motor is fuel injected also. On my fuel injected motors I have never worried about fuel gumming up the fuel injection no matter how long they sit. I was mainly pointing out how reliable they are
