Default Places to take a kid bream fish close to Baton Rouge?

I'm looking for a place to take my 4 year old bream fishing close to Baton Rouge soon. I fish Old River regularly but it's hit or miss right now with the river stage high. The only other place I've fished more than a couple times is Lake Verret but I'd like somewhere a little closer. Any suggestions?

I've never fished the LSU lakes. Really looking for somewhere to take the boat besides Old River that I can put him on some bream. Just not familiar with other places. Anyone fish Blind River or Bayou Barbary?

How's the bream fishing in False River? I've only bass fished there a few times. Any sac-a-lait?
