    Default Stern thruster

I have seen these in catalogs. They look like a cylinder with a prop on each end. They fasten to your stern board and help control the back end of boat . I see stern thrusters for very large boats in the catalogs , but not what im looking for . I really dont know what they would call them . If anyone knows where i could find one , who makes them ,and what they call them. The last one isaw was a minnkota. But that has been a long time ago. Any help would be appreciated

Sounded interesting so I did a little research. VERY expensive even for homemade versions. And I mean VERY expensive. Closest thing I could even come close to affording is the Minn Kota engine mounted trolling motors and they're over 500.00.
Wife walked into my office once and questioned me about what I was looking at for the boat that cost over a thousand dollars? Had a hard time convincing her I was looking to help you out!! LOL Good luck with the search.

Not sure what that is. For a smaller boat, seems to me a transom mounted trolling would work for what you want to do/desire. Don't know.

Some people use those running in reverse to slow them down spider rigging with the wind........Drift socks or chains will do just as good.

i guess i should have given a better explanation of what i was trying to do. I have a war eagle blackhawk boat. My wife and i sit in side by side seats. When we come up to a lay down or a certain spot on the bank. Holding the boat would be easier if you could control the back end when needed without moving the front Instead of letting the back end swing you could bump the stern thruster and just kick the backend over and stay perpendicular to the spot . But i want to be able to do this from my front seat. This thing would be bolted to the stern below the water line . When you are running on top it would be behind you and out of the water.

I am going to do what a lot of others do and they say it works good.....and thats putting a electric anchor on back of boat......with a remote switch mounted up front. Anchor the back from the front seat and then put Terrova trolling motor on spot lock to hold the front. I have got the electric anchor and switch just have not installed it yet.
