He said it would be breezy and it sure was. In fact it felt more like a gale but I know the winds didn't reach 35 mph but it got close at times. The weather has been rotten for fishing lately. Either it's raining or it's windy then besides that the water is as high as I've seen it this year, even higher that it was a while back with all the rains. And muddy, muddy, muddy. Well I had to put the van in the shop for the day and after we dropped it off there was nothing to do, so we went fishing.

We hit the Grove about 10 AM and fished until 2 PM. I figured if I look hard enough I could find a bed of gills somewhere. Well looked I did without much luck. Finally we rounded a corner and got in a little cove out of the winds and bingo. There they were. The action was fast and furious for a while. They were also of a nice size as I fillet them. We also caught 3 chinks while looking for the gills but found no concentration of them. My micro pole anchor came in real handy today, it allow us to move down the banks slowly a few feet at the time until we hit the mother lode and then hold us there without effort. It was fun and Linda was a happy lady today but tired. The ride back against the wind with 1 1/2 foot waves in the Intracoastal was tough, I'm glad I was in my glass boat and not in a tin boat like a couple of others we saw . They were really having a time of it. I bet their kidneys hurt tonight.

    Enjoy the pictures.

Mae and I have the boat hooked up for tomorrow, but it is not looking good. I think it is already close to raining in Henderson.

Wow, y'all had a great day! Looks like the rain here will keep us stuck inside 'till Friday.
What is that micro pole anchor?

Jimmy, It works great in shallow water. The pole is 8' and depending on the height of your boat will hold it in waters to about 5 or 6 foot. It was worth having it today.

Danny, maybe the rain will pass overnight and you'll be OK to go in the morning. I hope so anyway.

How come the weather is always worst during the spawn. Is it natures way to protect the fish?

Very nice mess of bream and chinks, Mr. Gene. Congratulations! Be sure to tell Mrs. Linda hello for me. Tell the truth now; did she out-fish you today? LOL.
