    Default Little Prarie 3/29/2016


    Crappie Trooper knows where I was. All 10 fish were only in 2 canals. Seems the water had to be just right. All caught on Purple/white jig with OCR trailer 8" under a cork. No picture cause I made a friend with them on the water. Gave um away. Hadn't caught that many in a while. Lot's of perch action too and some monster that rapped a limb and got off. I was glad cause I knew it wasn't something I wanted. It was pulling line like crazy.

    Only found fish in the first 2 canals on the right going toward the Lake. Best looking water was in the first one, but I checked it on the way back and I had little time remaining. Water is a little high yet for the canals to clear.

    Will still give it a try in the morning.. it's the only day I have to fish until the weekend.. nothing but Dr appointments all week long.

    Good report Mermentau.Always wanted to try fishing sac-a-lait around the Little Prairie area.Like to fish catfish at old Schooner Locks and old Intracoastal locks on Forked Island end.Will get to fishing canals towards White Lake one day for them thar sac-a-lait.Have a good day and hope to see you on the Mermentau River soon.

    I've been trying to get my brother-in-law to forget saltwater fish and get into sacs. He lives in Mandeville.
