    Default Mermentau river 2/27-2/28

I fished the river this week end and caught 43 in three trips. Fishing was tough. I had to work hard and cover a lot of water to catch them. Fish where scattered and few and far between. I could not catch one a jig. All fish where caught on shiners 4 to 6 inches deep in less than a foot of water off anything with wood. Name: uploadfromtaptalk1456723723100.jpg

Congrats on the catch.. probably was your truck i seen this morning then.. I managed to catch 1 nice one across from the tugboat, fished about a foot deep close to the trees and caught it on a black/chartreuse feather jig.
You can't fish with a hung line!

It was my truck. I have been using shiners but an orange and red is producing better. Depending on how close the drop off is from the bank depends on whether the fish are on cypress trees or on knees.
