Looking for information on Tickfaw/Natalbany River

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. I'm looking for information on fishing the Tickfaw and Natalbany Rivers near Springfield, LA. I spend about four days a week on my Chris Craft moored there, but have not had much luck fishing.

Jcchev, welcome to the forum. There are a few here that fish that area a bit. You can use the search bar at the top of the page to search for reports from the passed, some may help. I would start by fishing the docks and canals south of hwy 22 bridge. There are a lot of fish there, but they are not always cooperative. Also, look for downed trees or structure that is in deeper water this time of year. I recommend learning 1 area at a time. The more you move, the more likely you are to run right past good fishing spots. I have the tan xpress center console with the crappie.com sticker on the console. Thanks for the info. I have the WET & WILD, 1972 Chris Craft Commander Yachtfish, at Tickfaw Marina, Slip 16. I also keep a 21' Cajun center console in a nearby slip. I used to catch a lot of crappie in areas just like you describe, but haven't found them in quite a while. Maybe we can hook up together sometime. My slip look onto the fuel dock at the Tickfaw Store.

Small world. I knew Dickie and still have contact with Pam. Dickie died a few years back. He was quite a guy.

That area has a lot to do with tidel flow beings water does not flow much . I have straight up murderd them to not a bite the next week. I was raised on that river my folks built the prop stop still fish the area often

I fished amite river put in at petes sat morning till about 1caught 5 fish tight lining with minners in 20ft water not what I hoped for thought I should have tried tickfaw

I haven't fished local in a while so I can't give you currant info but as stated above tide is probably the most important thing to watch, or course a falling tide is best. For me fishing is usually slow here except for spring time when sac au lait and bream are bedding, fishing is great under the gum trees when the worms are out.
