I am thinking of starting to my own jigs. The company that used to make my favorite color went out of business. I think I want to start tying my own but don't know what equipment to buy. Any suggestions would be helpful. I have looked at the kits on amazon. They were cheap like 50$.

Cheap kits are a good way to start and you can tie some very professional looking jigs with them. Most kits contain a vise, scissors, whip finisher, and bobbin. Some even have some supplies. Materials are available on line or at Cabelas or Bass Pro.
Here is a link to one on ebay that seems to have all you need to start.

If you decide you really like tying then you can slowly by more quality tools.
Have fun,

Check with crazy angler tackle, I think he has a starter kit. Beware this is very addictive, before you know it you will have 1000.00 worth of materials!! LOL
