Default Frabil Telescoping Lure Retriever Anybody?

Frabill Telescoping Lure Retriever 15-441936 - Gander Mountain Has anybody had experience with this and a small cork float? Wondering if a small cork would pass through the coil so that you can get down to the hook itself.

I've used one of these for years, but 99% for getting crank baits unhung when deeper than my rod tip. Works well for that. It is fairly heavy and a little awkward to use....as for the "cork", the wire coil opening is larger in diameter than a half dollar coin.

Would the back of the coil allow the cork to pass all the way through assuming it was smaller than a half dollar.
    Thanks for the help.

I would think you would be ok with a small cork but don't know for sure.

It got some good reviews some bad on web site. Most bad said too heavy because inside telescoping sections stay inside tip portion that make it heavy. Also joint connections come loose and plastic/nylon joint connectors freeze up and spiral tip comes off. But if it saves a few lures it could pay for itself??? I use an aluminum telescoping boat hook 12' long and like your American Express card............ DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!!! ~~ <*{{{{<<

Would that be here at CDC? I read reviews on other sites, but nothing beats someone here that uses it. I'm pretty sure I can make something that will work if need be.

John, I figure you would have to make a couple hundred saves to justify the cost.

I use an old bamboo cane pole with a bent piece of wire coat hanger attached to the small end of the pole......make the wire in a "U" shape.....it has paid for itself many times.....most of the time in south Louisiana you will not get hung up over 6-8 feet deep..........

Will probably wind up with something similar, but I have some stainless rod I think.
