Hey Charlie,
Your right, a good report doesn't always mean a full box of fish. Your report gives one a starting place to fish. (fish suspended about 6' deep in 13' of water and on shiners.)s up on your post

Partner and I made a trip to Cypress Lake (Benton, LA) yesterday so I thought I would give you a report. This was our first time to fish this lake but we liked what we saw. Only caught 9 but it at lease we were fishing. We usually fish Grand Bayou (Coushatta) but since it is being drawn down we are looking for another place to fish. While our fish were of decent size, and big enough to fillet, they were smaller than the crappie we generally catch at GB. We caught all but one of our fish suspended about 6' deep in 13' of water and on shiners. No concentrations of fish, just one here and one there. Water temp was 64.5 degrees. We left the lake at 2:30 PM. This report probably doesn't help a lot but one thing I have learned through the years is that even a poor report has information we can use.

Charlie, the way I see it is 9 fish on the first trip to a new body of water ain't bad. It is good in my opinion. Congratulations and thanks for the report. From what I have read you might try pulling some crankbaits on Cypress. I need to get with you on Grand Bayou when the water comes back up. I would love a few tips and pointers on that lake.
The Lord is good. His mercy and love endures forever.
Good report.
Good report!
