Amite River landing

I was told there is a public landing for the Amite River on hwy 431. I have looked on Goggle Earth and I can't find it. Does anyone know where it is or if it actually exists?

Are you talking about Fred's landing? It just opened up. Better question is can you catch Sac-a-lait at amite??

The landing at Fred's is open. Used it yesterday afternoon. Yes there are sacs to caught. I'll post a report later with pics.

Freds boat launch is only 20 mins from my home...if u can catch sacs there...that would be UNREAL!!!

The Amite River is not a place that someone would travel to catch sacs. If you live close enough, you can catch some sacs. There are a number of camps and docks on the river itself that hold some sacs. The lake at the north end of the diversion canal (we always called it Flat Lake, I think it's called something else on maps) is good sometimes. Lots of Lillie pads. I have heard people catch fish in Blind River, I've never fished it.
