    Default PM trip to the river.


    Wanted to go back to Disney World but it wasn't to be.
    Next best thing is the river. Just a short ride down I12 for me.
    Water is purty but up in the woods. Southeast wind will do that. Nice breeze all afternoon. Makes fishing that much more fun.

    All fish caught on a 1/16 minnow head black,green, and chart tube tightlinned. Caught a few swim a 3tail. About half off docks and the rest punching.

    Nice catch!! I need to spend the time to learn how to fish the Tickfaw. It is so much closer than Henderson or Pidgeon.

    What is punching? See the grass mats in the pictures, that's not solid ground but rather a mat of floating grass, lillies, etc. You find a small opening it the thick of it and drop or punch a jig down in that hole to catch fish hiding in the shade of the mat. You can also open up a small hole with your rod tip or special punching stick which you carry with you. Mine is telescopic, compresses to aroung 5' and extends out to 12'.

    this is my "punching stick"....made from a 10 foot expandable aluminum paint pole with a paint roller handle screwed on the end....cost me about $16 to make....
