Henderson Newbie!!!

Well the wife has finished with school and moved back home!!! Finally got a break from work and we decided to take an adventure to Henderson since we've never been. Wanted to get some shiners but heberts was fresh out. Got some crickets and launched at Kerns since the I-10 launch was packed. Caught a bunch of smaller bream and a very nice bass! Kept 19 bream/Chinqs/goggleye. Any pointers or tips for a couple Henderson newbies? Also bait shops in the area? Thanks in advance everybody!!!

You will like Henderson....takes a while to learn how to get around.....lots of different fishing conditions on the lake.....I love it mainly because it is close to BR....and I usually fish weekdays to avoid the crowds.....wintertime has less joy riders.....you can find shiners just south of I10 about 1 1/2 miles on Hwy. 1 at Spillway Sportsman.....or go 4 miles on Hwy 1 south to Dickies.....or get them just south of the rest area at Butte Larose at C & D Grocery...after you get off the interstate (coming from BR) go south and pass up the road to the boat launch and go about 1/4 mile on the right.....you may want to try Basin Landing just south of Pats restaurant on weekends....

Thanks Bruce! I'm also in BR (central to be exact) Louie's bait and tackle in baker has shiners too but they're un reliable with their open times. The drive wasnt bad at all even with the late start. We had a good time and will definitely be back! Would love to get the wife on a mess of sacs! She would have a blast!!!
