I put in at phills landing on Thursday of this week at about 5:30 am and when I got back to my truck around 11:30 am I found the trailer jack in the down position and also found my pin pulled from the swing Away trailer tong I'm not sure if I have done anything to make someone mad at me but if I had I wish they would just come to me with it and not my Trailer . I'm now going to look for a way to lock that PIN onto the trailer so it can not be removed If I had not seen it I guess it could cause the boat trailer to sway very bad going down the road.

Brother, I hate to hear about things like that happening. I thought, just the other day, about buying an extra pin just in case someone ever "needed" mine while it was at a lake somewhere. Now, I think I will stop at the next hardware store I drive by and get one to keep in the truck. Thanks for letting us know. I hope someone catches them someday.

Since I don't have a tongue like that I don't know what size pin you need. But I would go to tractor supply or tractor place and get a implement pin, put in drill press and drill a hole big enough for a pad lock to go through. That is what I did for the pin that holds hitch in truck.

Yes that is kind if the direction I was thinking of going but then I thought I could take a cable lock like for a bicycle and run it trough the metal loop in top of the pin and around trailer tong a few times then lock it. Im not sure I can drill a hole big enough for a pad lock in that pin its not to fat ill post a picture of it next time im out at the shop
Had someone cut my winch strap last year.....some people

here is what it looks like I have that lock in the picture but i would have to drill that hole out a lot for it to fit I also don't have a drill press only a hand drill

I have seen bent hitch pins with a lock rather than a hair pin clip. It makes your receiver hitch pretty secure. I don't know it they are long enough to work on the breakaway tongue though. Google "bent hitch pin". They come in 1/2" and 5/8" diameter with about 2.5" usable length.
