Managed a few from Cow Island Sunday. Dey weren't jumpin in de boat. This is worst year for de basin for me in a while. Hopefully when the water drops it won't get too stagnant. Finally found an easy way to post pics, finally. I guess I'm a country bumpkin.
look like you're doing well to me...nice catch.
Nice mess, thanks for the picture!

That will stink up the grease. Nice mess and thanks for the report/picture.
Lake runner. I know people that's been catching in cow island for about a month now. In 5 days they had over 150 Sacalait. They said it had to be a certain color jig

I guess my jaw was in the wrong direction.CI is tough, better when it's cloudy. I've done good in the past. That day i didn't see anyone doing good. It's not a bad run for me. I launch in Catahoula and run the canal to the river. Better than going all the way to BLR. Have you ever fished it? I've done well with black/firetail tubes and silver phantom assassins.
I find that 1/32 and 1/64 jigs are the trick in cow island. They like the slow fall. Wind or current pushing up against the grass is how I catch them most of the time. Tricky part is, there is grass everywhere! Most boats stay up against the banks of grass, I stay away from that most of the time. Colors can differ with the weather like Derek said. Lots of good reports from there lately.

Slab, 1/32 is all I use. Sunday all the sacs were on silver phantom. Black/firetail is my go to most of the time. They wouldn't touch it. The sacs weren't near the banks of grass. Ilet my boat drift to the "banks" and cast toward the open water. There are some clumps of submerged hydrilla there. The few I caught were in one spot, almost back to back. Then they just quit. I tried a tandem tube rig with no cork, nothin. When I first got there all I caught were bream. I don't usually keep em but I decided to start cause couldn't hook a sac.I just ordered some gulp minnows and time I go I'll try em out. 2 years ago they wanted Black/firetail. Sunday the bream wanted 1/32 w/mimic minnow and nibbles. The littlest one they make, I think they're called "fry". I just figured we could put our heads together and figure em out. Thanks for the help. Hope to cross you one day. I have a camoed, old Duracraft with a 70 Yammie 4 stroke.
