Default J B Salters jigging technique

Is there a video that demonstrates his technique? Have been re-reading posts about this and sure wish I knew how to learn this fine fisherman's method. If no video is available maybe someone who knows this technique could make a video to share and to respect Mr Salter!

I can tell you this about his method. It was developed over the years of fishing in flooded trees. In such a situation you cannot raise your pole above horizontal or you will be into the trees and branches. Also you do not use your arm to swing your jig out. Your elbow must remain at your side. While teaching his technique he stands you up against a wall, that way you cannot use your arm to swing the jig. It is strictly using a pendulum motion to load the rod and then releasing the jig at the right moment to shot forward. If you can picture this, it's like dock shooting without grabbing the jig.

At the very end of the video you can see him swinging the jig and then shooting it to the tree.

yes....he melts a small flat piece of solder (like an egg yolk) next to the eye...it is lighter than lead so it gives a slow fall.....the theory he said is that it would wobble on the fall triggering the bite.....just another of his inventions.....he sells plenty of those.....Mr. Salter went to a nursing home this year and his son is running the business in Erwinville, La......
